An area of low pressure deepened as it moved from the Ohio Valley, northeast to the Canadian Maritimes,on October 15. A steep pressure gradient between this storm and high pressure building across the Appalachians, produced destructively strongs winds across extreme southern Vermont.

Four trees were blown down in Sunderland, Bennington County. Trees and wires were blown down in Brattleboro, Windham County, blocking some roads.
