An area of low pressure deepened as it moved from the Ohio Valley, northeast to the Canadian Maritimes on October 15. A steep pressure gradient between this storm and high pressure building across the Appalachians, produced destructively strongs winds across Litchfield county. Some trees and power lines were reported down in the towns of Kent and New Preston, along with some spotty power outages.
