A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS MOVING THROUGH THE COLUMBIA BASIN THIS
EVENING. WINDY CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN OBSERVED BY SPOTTERS IN CENTRAL
OREGON. THE LOW WILL BRING COLDER AIR INTO EASTERN OREGON CAUSING
SNOW LEVELS TO LOWER TO 2000 FEET LATE TONIGHT. WINTER STORM
WARNINGS AND SNOW ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR MANY ZONES IN
NORTHEAST OREGON AND SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON. THE SURFACE LOW WILL
DEEPEN AND MOVE NORTHEAST IN THE LOWER COLUMBIA BASIN THIS EVENING
AND BRING A FAST MOVING COLD FRONT ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA. WINDS
WILL INCREASE THIS EVENING IS RESPONSE TO RAPID PRESSURE RISES AND
INCREASING PRESSURE GRADIENTS FOLLOWING PASSAGE OF A FAST MOVING
COLD FRONT THIS EVENING. EXPECT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 40 TO 50 MPH WITH
STRONG GUSTY WINDS TO 60 TO 65 MPH TONIGHT IN THE FOOTHILLS AND THE
LOWER COLUMBIA BASIN SO WILL ISSUE A HIGH WIND WARNING FOR TONIGHT.

STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IN THE
MOUNTAINS TONIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING.

PRECIPITATION WILL TAPER OFF AND WINDS WILL DECREASE BY MIDDAY
FRIDAY. A SHORT WAVE RIDGE WILL BRING TEMPORARY DRYING FRIDAY NIGHT

High wind caused over 800 people to lose power when trees fell on the power lines in Pasco and Finley. Two tractor trailers were overturned, one on Interstate 82 and the other on Interstate 182, but no injuries were reported. Fences were blown down the street into neighboring houses, causing damages to roofs. The Pasco ASOS reported a gust to 60 mph.
