Several automated sensors recorded high wind gusts. The Desert Research Institute in Stead recorded 58.2 mph, a RAWS sensor on Catnip Mt. recorded 62 mph and the Nevada Department of Transportation sensor in Washoe Valley had 53 mph.

THE STORM WAS INDEED FAST MOVING. THE PRECIP HAS ALL BUT ENDED OVER
NORTHEAST CALIFORNIA AND WAS BEGINING TO DECREASE OVER THE LAKE
TAHOE AREA. WINDS HAD DIMINSHED FOR A TIME AS THE PRECIP PASSED
OVER THE AREA BUT HAD BEGUN TO INCREASE AGAIN DURING THE LAST COUPLE
OF HOURS. THE PRECIP BAND SEEMS TO BE WEAKENING AS IT MOVES INTO
THE CENTRAL SIERRA AND MONO COUNTY.
WITH THIS IN MIND WILL HAVE TO MAKE SOME ADJUSTMENTS TO THE WARNINGS
AND ADVISORIES. THINK THE WINDS WILL REMAIN MODERATELY STRONG UNTIL
AROUND MIDNIGHT ALTHO NOT IN THE WARNING CATEGORY SO WILL ALLOW THE
HIGH WIND WARNINGS TO EXPIRE BUT WILL ISSUE WIND ADVISORIES UNTIL
MIDNIGHT OVER MOST OF THE NORTHERN PART OF THE CWA. WILL CANCEL THE
WINTER STORM WARNING OVER NORTHEAST CALIF. WILL CONTINUE THE SNOW
ADVISORY OVER LAKE TAHOE. NO OTHER UPDTS.
