NORTHEAST OREGON/SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PENDLETON OR 230 AM PST WED NOV 27 2002 AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE WITH THE AXIS ALONG 125W IS SLOWLY SHIFTING EASTWARD. THE STRONG RIDGE WILL REMAIN ANCHORED OVER THE PACIFIC NW OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. THE INVERSION WILL REMAIN STRONG RESULTING IN FOG AND LOW CLOUDS TRAPPED OVER THE BASIN AND SOME MOUNTAIN VALLEYS. AT THIS TIME...THE FOG IS DEEPEST OVER THE LOWER COLUMBIA BASIN. WITH A LIGHT EASTERLY GRADIENT...EXPECT DENSE FOG TO LINGER OVER THE BASIN. WILL ALSO MONITOR CONDITIONS IN THE YAKIMA AND KITTITAS VALLEY WHERE EASTERLY WINDS COULD PUSH FOG TOWARDS THE CASCADES.
