During calendar year 2002, the average temperature at the Pocatello Regional airport was 44.2 degrees. This made it the 5th coldest calendar year ever recorded in Pocatello. Outstanding "cold" highlights of the year were the 5th coldest February at 18.5 degrees, the 12th coldest March at 32.6 degrees, the 8th coldest August at 66.1 degrees, and the 2nd coldest October at 42.5 degrees. Records began being kept in Pocatello in 1899.
