Blizzard in Alaska, April 18 to 19, 2002
A 992mb low moved east across the Bering Sea producing a strong easterly pressure gradient and associated high winds across St Lawrence Island. The high winds, combined with snowfall that was also attributed to the low pressure system helped create blizzard conditions at Gambell.
