EAST-WEST ORIENTED LINE OF STORMS FROM FWD AREA TO SHV AREA SAGGING
SOUTHWARD. WEAKENING TREND HAS BEEN NOTED IN THE LAST SEVERAL RADAR
SCANS. BIG SHORT TERM PROBLEM FOR OUR AREA IS THE DIFFICULTY IN
TIMING THE SHORTWAVES (TONIGHT THROUGH THE WEEKEND) THAT WILL BE
STARTING TO CARVE OUT A CENTRAL TO EASTERN U.S. TROF. WITH HIGH
PRECIP WATER VALUES...LOW LIS...AND HIGH TOTAL TOTALS AND CAPES...
WILL CALL FOR SLIGHTLY HIGHER POPS STARTING TOMORROW AND ON THROUGH
THE WEEKEND. PRESENT THINKING IS THAT AREAS ALONG AND WEST OF
HIGHWAY 59 (ALONG AND WEST OF A LIVINGSTON TO HOUSTON TO EDNA LINE)
HAVE THE GREATEST RISK FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE NEXT
3 DAYS. DEVELOPING EASTERN U.S. TROF AND WESTERN U.S RIDGE WILL HELP
SWEEP A COLD FRONT THROUGH SOUTHEAST TEXAS LATE SUNDAY NIGHT AND ON
INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING. AT THIS TIME...IT APPEARS THAT
SIGNIFICANT DRYING WILL DEVELOP LATE ON MONDAY AS THE FRONT MAKES IT
WELL OFFSHORE (AVN PLUNGES IAHS PRECIP WATER VALUES TO UNDER .5
INCHES BY TUESDAY MORNING). NEXT WEEK LOOKS TO BE COOL AT NIGHT
(INLAND LOWS FINALLY DROPPING INTO THE 50S) AND MILD DURING THE DAY
(HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70S TO LOWER 80S). HAVE LEANED A LITTLE CLOSER
TO THE WARMER OVERNIGHT LOWS OF THE MEX. ALSO...EXPECT BREEZY
CONDITIONS ALONG THE COAST ON MONDAY AFTER FRONTAL PASSAGE.
