AFTERNOON...
SHORTWAVE MOVING EAST ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE UPPER LOW OVER ELP
WILL LIKELY SUPPORT THE COMPLEX OF THUNDERSTORMS NOW MOVING ACROSS
VAL VERDE COUNTY. AS THIS THUNDERSTORM AREA SPEADS SOUTHEAST AND
MOVES OVER SATURATED GROUNDS THE POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL FLOODING
EXISTS ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS. MEANWHILE TRAINING OF
ECHOES CONTINUE ACROSS CENTRAL SECTIONS OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS.
PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES ARE RUNNING CLOSE TO 200% OF NORMAL. WILL
GO AHEAD AND HOIST THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL OF SOUTH CENTRAL
TEXAS AS MODELS KEEP THE WHOLE AREA IN A GOOD CHANCE OF RAIN THROUGH
THE NEXT TWO DAYS. WILL ALSO EXTEND SEVERE MENTION THROUGH TONIGHT
AS MODELS CONTINUE TO INDICATE HEALTHY INFLOW INTO GOOD INSTABILITY
AND DYNAMICS ALOFT. POPS, TEMPS AND WINDS LOOK FINE FOR NOW.

A general 2 to 3 inch rain fell over the southern portion of Atascosa County, with as much as 5 inches southeast of Cambellton. Widespread flash flooding developed over the southern part of the county, ending around midnight. Considerable damage was reported to roads and bridges in the southeast corner of Atascosa County.
