PERSISTENT MID LEVEL LOW CONTINUES OVER THE ARKANSAS/MISSOURI STATE
LINE THIS AFTERNOON. 12Z MODELS DEVELOP FAVORABLE 7H OMEGA FIELDS
OVER PORTIONS OF THE EASTERN PANHANDLES DURING THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
STRONG CONVECTION DEVELOPING ALONG SURFACE TROUGH OVER WESTERN
OKLAHOMA. AIRMASS OVER THE FAR EASTERN PANHANDLES IS MODERATELY
UNSTABLE WITH LAPS INDICATING CAPE VALUES AS HIGH AS 3500 J/KG OVER
EASTERN LIPSCOMB COUNTY. CURRENT READINGS SHOWS TEMPERATURES
APPROACHING THE UPPER 90S WITH DEW POINTS IN THE LOW 60S.

ANOTHER AREA OF CONCERN IS THE NORTHWEST PANHANDLES. CURRENTLY
THUNDERSTORMS ORGANIZING ALONG SURFACE TROUGH IN UNION COUNTY NEW
MEXICO AND THE NORTHWEST ZONES. THIS CONVECTION MAY CONTINUE TO
DEVELOP THROUGH THIS EVENING. WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOP OVER THE NORTHERN AND/OR EASTERN ZONES DURING THE NEXT FEW
HOURS.

MID LEVEL WINDS WILL BECOME INCREASINGLY NORTHEAST TONIGHT AND
FRIDAY. WEAK WIND SHIFT SHOULD PUSH THROUGH THE FORECAST AREA
STARTING FRIDAY MORNING OVER THE NORTHERN ZONES. LITTLE OR NO COOLING
NOTED IN THE 12Z ETA WITH TEMPS WARMING FRIDAY AND SATURDAY WELL INTO
THE 90S.

MEDIUM RANGE MODELS FORECAST MOIST NORTHWEST FLOW OVER THE CENTRAL
AND SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS DURING THE EXTENDED PERIODS SO FEEL
COMPELLED TO INTRODUCE SLIGHT CHANCE POPS FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY AND
THURSDAY.
