AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN 733 PM CDT MON JUL 9 2001 UPPER LEVEL RIDGE IS GRADUALLY WEAKENING OVER OUR CWFA...SHIFTING WEST AND PLACING US IN MORE OF A NORTHWEST FLOW. RADARS AND SATELLITE SHOW SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING NORTHWEST TN FROM THE NORTH. THINK THESE STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD INTO WEST TN BUT GRADUALLY WEAKEN OVERNIGHT WITH LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING. WILL UPDATE TO INCREASE POPS A LITTLE FOR MOST OF WEST TN AND WORD AS SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS. NOT SURE IF STORMS WILL MAKE IT AS FAR SOUTH AS NORTH MS OVERNIGHT BEFORE DISSIPATING...BUT WILL LEAVE IN 20 PERCENT POP. WILL RAISE POPS SLIGHTLY FOR TUESDAY ENTIRE CWFA AS 18Z MESO-ETA AND 18Z AVN SHOW RIDGE CONTINUING TO WEAKEN. .MEG...HEAT ADVISORY TUESDAY FOR EAST-CENTRAL AR...EXTREME SOUTHWEST TN AND MOST OF NORTHWEST MS.
