Northwest winds across Lake Erie caused lake effect snow showers to develop during the afternoon of the 26th. The heaviest snow fell late in the evening on the 26th and early in the morning on the 27th. Accumulations of up to 18 inches were reported in Erie County with around 8 inches of snowfall in northern Crawford County.
