Strong pressure rises, following a moderate, westward moving low just south of Prince William Sound, triggered gusty southeast winds in many areas of the northern Gulf Coast. Gusts reached 73 mph at the Prince William Sound Science Center around 9 pm late Tuesday as the low passed. These winds are channeled through the Eyak Lake area and are anomalous to the city, harbor and ski area.
