STRONG COLD FRONT MOVING SOUTH ACROSS THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF NV.
HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS REPORTS OF SMALL HAIL ALONG THE FRONT...ALONG
WITH HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG GUSTY WIND.  THE WIND SHIFTED TO THE NORTH
BEHIND THE FRONT AND TEMPERATURES HAVE FALLEN INTO THE UPPER 20S TO
LOWER 30S.  VORTICITY CENTER APPEARS TO BE MOVING INTO NORTHWEST NV AT
THIS TIME AND WILL BE NEAR RENO AROUND 03Z PER LATEST RUC.  INITIAL
SNOW WITH THE FRONT WILL END BUT SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS ASSOCIATED
WITH THE VORTICITY CENTER WILL REMAIN OVER MUCH OF THE CWA THIS
EVENING.  HAVE ADDED LOCAL ACCUMULATIONS OF GENERALLY AN INCH OR TWO
OVER THE AREA THIS EVENING...WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS IN THE SIERRA AND
OVER EASTERN PORTIONS OF CHURCHILL COUNTY AS FRONTAL BAND MOVES
THROUGH THOSE AREAS.  STRONG JET STREAM WINDS CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE
VORTICITY CENTER SOUTH WHILE TROUGH SHIFTS EAST.  EXPECT MOSTLY SUNNY
SKIES OVER MOST OF CWA TOMORROW MORNING BEFORE RESIDUAL MOISTURE
CREATES PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES IN THE AFTERNOON.  THERE IS A SLIGHT
CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS OVER FAR NORTHERN WASHOE COUNTY IN RESPONSE TO
A WEAK SHORT WAVE MOVING THROUGH THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST.  ANOTHER WEAK
DISTURBANCE MOVES THROUGH NORTHERN CA THURSDAY NIGHT WITH CONSIDERABLE
MID AND HIGH CLOUDS BUT NO QPF.

THE EXTENDED PERIOD SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY FEATURES DRY WEATHER AS
RIDGE BUILDS OVER WESTERN U.S. AHEAD OF LARGE LOW PRESSURE IN EASTERN
PACIFIC.  TEMPERATURES WILL BE ABOVE NORMAL BY SUNDAY AND REMAIN SO
THROUGH MUCH OF NEXT WEEK.  RC
