WILL KEEP MENTION OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE WEST/CENTRAL PORTIONS UNTIL
MIDNIGHT...SINCE THUNDERSTORMS ARE FIRING UP WEST OF BILLINGS...WITH
NUMEROUS LIGHTNING SEEN FROM THE OFFICE. RED FLAG WARNING WILL ALSO
CONTINUE UNTIL MIDNIGHT.

BASED ON WATER VAPOR IMAGERY AND THE INITIALIZATION OF THE 20/00Z ETA...
IT APPEARS THAT A WEAK VORT MAX IS MOVING INTO THE AREA FROM IDAHO...
AND INTERACTING WITH THE NORTHERN EDGE OF THE MONSOONAL FLOW. THIS HAS
RESULTED IN THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY...MAINLY DRY...THAT WILL CONTINUE
UNTIL MIDNIGHT. THE NEW ETA SUGGESTS THAT THE SAME SCENARIO MIGHT BE
PLAYED OUT AGAIN ON MONDAY...BUT WILL LET THE MID SHIFT FORECASTERS
TAKE A LOOK AT MORE MODEL DATA...SO WILL NOT UPDATE PERIODS TWO AND
THREE. WILL MAKE SOME MINOR UPDATES. STROBIN

.WED...THU...FRI...SAT...SUN...
WITH NEXT UPPER SLOWLY DIGGING ALONG THE PACIFIC COAST MODELS ARE
MOSTLY IN GOOD AGREEMENT THAT THE RIDGE BUILDS OVER THE STATE AND WARM
TEMPERATURES RETURN. WITH STRONGER SOUTHWEST FLOW REMAINING NORTH AND
WEST OF THE FORECAST AREA DO NOT EXPECT ANY SIGNIFICANT MOISTURE TO GET
INTO THE AREA AND 700MB PATTERN LOOKS TO KEEP ANY MONSOONAL MOISTURE
FURTHER SOUTH. FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE AREA THURSDAY NIGHT OR PROBABLY
LATER AS THE TREND IS FOR MODELS TO PROGRESS FRONTS TO QUICKLY. WITH
FRONT WILL COME COOLER TEMPERATURES BUT DO NOT EXPECT ANY
PRECIPITATION. FLATTER WESTERLY FLOW TO PERSIST BEHIND THE RIDGE WITH
