MONSOONAL FLOW WILL CONTINUE TO BRING WARM AND HUMID WEATHER THIS WEEK.
WEAK DISTURBANCES ALOFT WILL PRODUCE SCATTERED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS
AT TIMES...WITH THE BEST CHANCES OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS.

SATELLITE AND RADAR IMAGES INDICATED SCATTERED LIGHT CONVECTION SOUTH
OF THE BORDER THIS MORNING. THIS ACTIVITY WAS MOVING NORTHWEST AND MAY
REACH SAN DIEGO COUNTY AND THE COASTAL WATERS TODAY.

SURFACE DEWPOINTS ACROSS MOST OF SOCAL ARE A FEW DEGREES HIGHER THAN AT
THIS TIME YESTERDAY. THE 12Z SOUNDINGS SHOW THAT THE LOW AND MID LEVELS
REMAIN FAIRLY DRY WITH NW WINDS FROM 925 MB TO 700 MB. MOST OF THE
MOISTURE REMAINS IN THE UPPER LEVELS WHERE 500 MB SOUTHEAST WINDS HAVE
ADVECTED MOISTURE INTO SOCAL OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS. THIS HAS RESULTED
IN AN "INVERTED V" SOUNDING...AND SO ANY ACTIVITY TODAY WILL BE HIGH
BASED AND PRECIP AMTS MAY NOT BE TOO HEAVY. THIS IS FORECAST TO CHANGE
WEDNESDAY AS THE MODELS SUGGEST AN EASTERLY WAVE WILL APPROACH FROM
NORTHERN MEXICO/AZ TONIGHT. THE RESULTANT SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE
LOW AND MID LEVEL MOISTURE...BRINGING BETTER CHANCES FOR CONVECTION TO
THE REGION.

THE UPPER AIR PATTERN DOES NOT CHANGE MUCH THURSDAY OR FRIDAY FOR MORE
WARM AND HUMID WEATHER AND SCATTERED CONVECTION FROM TIME TO TIME.

UPDATE WILL BE ISSUED THIS MORNING FOR FIRST PERIOD CHANGES.
