STATES WILL RESULT IN UNSETTLED CONDITIONS OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE
COASTAL AND VALLEY AREAS AND A CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE MOUNTAINS
TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY AS THE STORM STRENGTHENS...THEN MOVES EAST.
PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES... BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES...AND BREEZY
CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH THURSDAY.

THE MAINLY DRY UPPER LEVEL LOW CONTINUES TO SETTLE OVER THE WEST.
IT HAS INCREASED THE ONSHORE GRADIENTS AND THE LOW CLOUDS HAVE
ALREADY SURGED INTO THE SOUTHERN COASTAL VALLEYS. THE LOW CLOUDS
SHOULD BE AROUND UNTIL THE COLD AIR ALOFT BREAKS THE INVERSION AND
CLEARS OUT THE LOW CLOUDS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
AS FOR PRECIPITATION...WE COULD GET SOME FROM THIS DEVELOPING MOIST
LAYER AT THE COAST...OR FROM THE LIMITED MOISTURE IN THE COLD AIR
AND ASSOCIATED CONVECTION THAT MAY ARRIVE WEDNESDAY. THEREFORE...I
CANNOT RULE IT OUT...SO PRECIPITATION WILL STAY IN THE FORECAST.

High winds across the San Jacinto Mountains, generated lee mountain waves that touched in the Coachella Valley between Palm Springs and Thermal. Power lines were knocked down in Rancho Mirage. In La Quinta, trees were uprooted and tents, fences, and banners set up for a golf tournament were blown down and damaged. Blowing sand reduced visibility to 15 feet in several areas.
