A thunderstorm move through Verde Lakes (8 SE Camp Verde) with damaging wind, one inch hail and heavy rain. The strong wind split a large cottonwood tree in half and knocked large branches off other trees.

A DRIER WESTERLY FLOW WILL DEVELOP BY FRIDAY AND CONTINUE INTO WEEKEND. ONLY ISOLATED STORMS ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE NEW MEXICO BORDER BY THE WEEKEND...WITH MOSTLY SUNNY AND WARM CONDITIONS ELSEWHERE. .DISCUSSION...UPPER LOW SOUTH OF VEGAS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE SLOWLY EAST TONIGHT AND INTO THURSDAY AFTERNOON. THE BEST DYNAMICS WITH THE LOW WILL DIMINISH TONIGHT...WITH WEAKER DYNAMICS AND A WARMING COLD POOL EXPECTED THURSDAY. ALL MODELS SHOWING THE PRONOUNCED DRYING SEEN OVER SOUTHWEST ARIZONA MOVING NORTHEASTWARD WITH TIME. DO NOT EXPECT AS RAPID A DRYING TREND AS THE AVN SHOWS...BUT DO EXPECT ACTIVITY TO BE LESS WIDESPREAD AND FARTHER EAST THURSDAY.
