An early season winter storm brought heavy snow to the region. Three to six inches of snow fell across the central Black Hills, with five to ten inches of snow in the northern Black Hills. Lead reported the most snowfall from the storm with 10.5 inches. Some of the snowfall totals at the cooperative observing sites set snowfall records for the month of September.
