Heavy Snow in Pennsylvania, November 22 to 23, 2000
A prolonged period of cold northwest flow across the relatively warm waters of Lake Erie produced the first significant lake-effect snowfall of the season across portions of western Pennsylvania. Lake-effect snow showers increased in intensity by late on the 21st, producing snowfall totals of between 3 and 6 inches by the afternoon of the 22nd at many locations.
