Flood in Oregon, September 30, 2000
Heavy rain, estimated at 3 inches in places, plus glacial melt associated with abnormally warm temperatures, acted together to trigger floods and rock and mud slides on the western slopes of Mount Hood. Parts of Oregon Highway 35 were closed due to slides and washouts.

Parts of Oregon Highway 35 were closed due to slides and washouts. The Oregon Department of Transportation estimated it will take up to one month to make the repairs at an estimated cost of one million dollars.
