Severe thunderstorms moved south from west of Ord to north of Cairo during the evening. Before diminishing shortly after 8 pm, the storms had produced 60 to 100 mph winds and golf ball size hail. In Loup City, two grain bins sustained major damage at the local elevator. Estimates as high as 100,000 dollars for repairs. Just three weeks earlier, another wind and hail storm caused about 30,000 dollars damage at the same business. Near 100 mph winds were believed to have toppled a 100 foot concrete silo north of Boelus.
