Severe thunderstorms moved across southcentral Montana on the evening of May 10th. One storm produced large hail in SweetGrass County and a second storm produced large hail in Golden Valley, Musselshell, and Rosebud Counties.

Severe thunderstorms moved across southcentral Montana on the evening of May 10th. One storm produced large hail in SweetGrass County and a second storm produced large hail in Golden Valley, Musselshell, and Rosebud Counties. Three quarter inch hail was observed between 5:39 and 7:40 pm 10 miles west of Big Timber and 3 to 5 miles west of Roundup. One inch hail was observed 1 miles south of Ryegate, in Lavina, and 6 miles east of Lavina where the hail covered the ground between 6:22 and 7:02 pm. Quarter size hail was also observed in Ryegate, 1/2 mile west of Ryegate that covered Highways 300 and 12 and also 2 miles east of Melstone.
