What happened

The episode as NWS IND wrote it up.

An upper level disturbance with Pacific maritime properties pushed southeast across central Indiana triggering heavy snow north of a Turkey Run State Park to Indianapolis to New Castle line. Snowfall amounts, received mainly from winter weather spotters, law enforcement and media, were mostly in the 6 to 7 inch range. South of the aforementioned line, snow accumulations were from 3 to 5 inches. A strong surface pressure gradient resulted in significant blowing and drifting of snow.
