Freezing temperatures were observed over most of West Central and parts of Southwest Florida from early evening on December 20th through the mid-morning hours of December 21st, 2000.Low temperatures dropped into the lower 20s over Levy county with durations below freezing for up to fourteen hours.Low temperatures dropped into the middle 20s over Citrus, Sumter, Hernando and Pasco counties with durations below freezing for eight to twelve hours.Low temperatures dropped into the upper 20s to lower 30s over Polk, Hardee, De Soto, Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough and eastern Charlotte counties and stayed below freezing for durations of five to seven hours.
