A large slow moving upper level storm system caused heavy snow to fall over portions of southern Colorado. In addition to the snow there were some gusty winds which caused near zero visibilities at times. Some of the heavier snow storm totals follow: In Mineral county, 8 to 10 inches of snow was noted southwest of Creede, and 18 inches was measured at Wolf Creek Pass. In Rio Grande county, 6 to 7 inches of snow graced the community of Del Norte. In Pueblo county, 7 to 8 inches of snow occurred at Rye, while 7 to 11 inches of snow covered Beulah. In Costilla county, 10 inches of snow was noted at La Veta Pass while 24 inches of snow accumulated 5 miles east of Ft. Garland. In Huerfano county, 6 inches of snow fell at Walsenburg while 14 inches was measured at Cuchara. In Custer county, 10 inches of snow fell at Westcliffe while 14 inches was observed 8 miles to the west of Westcliffe. In Chaffee county 8 inches of snow accumulated at Salida. Finally, in Conejos county, 7 to 12 inches of snow was noted in the vicinity of Antonito.
