Strong north winds exceeded 40 mph across the interior valley and foothills. More than 20,000 SMUD and PG&E customers were temporarily without power. The winds uprooted trees damaging several homes and vehicles. Across the less populated Sierra Nevada, winds exceeded 75 mph.
