Strong northeast Matanuska winds (60+ mph) began a little after 3 pm ADT Saturday, peaking at 86 mph as recorded on the 7:15 pm ADT observation. Wind gusts finally diminished to less than 60 mph Sunday at 11:30 am ADT. Peak winds early Sunday morning reached 75 mph.
