Lightning started a forest fire about 3 miles north of Winona (16 miles east of Flagstaff) on July 24. The Power Fire burned about 1500 acers in pinyon and juniper trees and grassland. Air tankers, helicopters, and about 70 people contained the fire by the evening of July 27.
