Strong winds in La Pine, located in DesChutes County east of the Oregon Cascades, knocked down several mature trees. Power was also lost for around one hour. One observer noticed sustained winds of 35 mph and blowing dust on Highway 97 between La Pine and Bend. During the time of the peak winds the temperature rose from 39 to 60 degrees.
