High winds whipped across the state as yet another dry upper level storm center affected the region. Trees and power poles were downed in Los Alamos while blowing dust closed roads in Chaves County during the late afternoon and early evening of the 7th. One mobile home lost its roof near Roswell and other residents reported damage to trees and small sheds. Strong northwesterly downslope winds developed over western Colfax County about mid-morning on the 8th and then overturned several trucks along Interstate 25 a few miles south of Raton.
