Heavy rain flooded several streets, including East Kawailani Street. Several homes in the Hilo area suffered flooding with minor damage. A fallen tree downed telephone lines and forced the temporary closure of Laimana Street, while heavy rains also closed roads in the Waiakea Uka and Kaumana areas for several hours.
