High winds developed in and near the Front Range Foothills as a strong upper level jet moved into the area. Although wind gusts were generally in the 70 mph to 80 mph range; a spotter located 1 mile south of Fritz Peak, near Rollinsville, measured a peak wind gust to 124 mph (108 kts).

Although wind gusts were generally in the 70 mph to 80 mph range; a spotter located 1 mile south of Fritz Peak, near Rollinsville, measured a peak wind gust to 124 mph (108 kts). Other wind reports included: 77 mph (67 kts) at the NCAR Mesa Lab and atop Blue Mountain, 75 mph (65 kts) at Allenspark and 70 mph (61 kts) at the National Wind Technology Center.
