Heavy snow fell generally above 8000 feet from Wednesday evening through Friday evening and beyond in the Sangre de Cristo mountains, Wet mountains, and Teller county and Rampart Range. This snow was the "cold part" of the major rain and flooding event which affected the adjacent plains and Arkansas River basin southeast to Bent county. Snow amounts were estimated to be 2 to 4 feet with some higher amounts likely in favored, but unknown, areas. The snow lasted into the 1st of May.
