High Wind in Alaska, November 27 to 28, 1999
Strong southeasterly winds preceded a vigorous front which moved through the Aleutians and Pribilofs Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, strong west to southwest winds followed the parent low as it moved from near Shemya Saturday morning to near Saint Matthew Island Sunday morning, where it began to weaken.

Strong southeasterly winds preceded a vigorous front which moved through the Aleutians and Pribilofs Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, strong west to southwest winds followed the parent low as it moved from near Shemya Saturday morning to near Saint Matthew Island Sunday morning, where it began to weaken. Wind gusts in advance of the front reached 60 to 65 mph across the Pribilofs and central and eastern Aleutians from Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning. Brisk southwest winds gusted up to 65 mph in these same areas late Saturday and Sunday around the back side of the storm.
