High winds affected much of the South Plains area, though especially Lubbock, Bailey, and Motley Counties. At Lubbock International Airport, ASOS measured a wind gust to 52 knots (60 mph). Trees were snapped in Slaton (Lubbock County). In Bailey County, winds were measured at 65 mph. Damage occurred in Matador (Motley County), where trees were uprooted, fences were broken, and small storage buildings were blown over.
