Later that evening, additional severe thunderstorms developed rapidly from Dallas northeast to east of Sherman in Grayson County.

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms developed ahead of a slow-moving cold front over southwestern portions of north Texas early on the evening of the 2nd and moved east across the southern quarter of the region. Later that evening, additional severe thunderstorms developed rapidly from Dallas northeast to east of Sherman in Grayson County. Large hail was reported with both severe weather systems, with sized ranging from 0.75 of an inch up to 2.5 inches in diameter.
