Scattered severe thunderstorms developed late in the afternoon across the eastern half of the area, producing substantial hail and wind damage. The area near O.H. Ivie Reservoir was hardest hit, when wind gusts up to 70 mph ran sailboats ashore. One tornado was also spotted just west of Albany in Shackelford County. The tornado moved across open ranchland and did no reported damage.
