A concert was scheduled at Center Hill Lake at 5 PM by Alan Jackson. By noon that day, there were about 1000 houseboats, ski boats and pontoons sat facing the boat ramp for the concert. Center Hill Lake was pelted by a severe thunderstorm at 159 PM CDT. Winds were estimated at 50 to 60 mph. Seven boats sank and many more were damaged as boats slammed into each other. The strong winds damaged the stage so the concert was canceled. Trees were blown down near the lake as well.

Off duty NWS employee reported trees blocking a westbound lane of I-40 between Highway 109 and Mt. Juliet. A newspaper article reported that the strong thunderstorm winds overturned campers at a campground near I-40 and Highway 109. One man suffered a broken leg after the camper he was in overturned.
