A line of severe thunderstorms which produced wind damage upstream across the southern tier of New York earlier in the afternoon dipped into northern Bradford county. Isolated occurrences of wind damage resulted. State police officials reported several trees and utility poles downed in Sayre around 225 pm and a few more trees toppled in Athens at about 230 pm EDT.

The same line of thunderstorms that produced isolated damage in northern Bradford county earlier in the afternoon continued eastward through the northern tier of Susquehanna county just south of the state line. More isolated wind damage accompanied these storms. State police officials again observed the downing of a few trees in Little Meadows along route 858 at about 245 pm EDT. A short time later, the storm blew over a few more trees in the Silver Lake area. Portions of route 167 had to be closed for a brief time period until fallen trees could be cleared from the roadway.
