Heavy rainfall over several days caused the Great Miami River at Miamitown to overflow its banks twice. The river first crested at an estimated 18.0 feet around 200 PM EST on the 15th. The river then fell below the flood stage of 16.0 feet around 400 PM EST that day. More heavy rainfall caused the river to rise back out its banks at 300 PM EST on the 16th. This time the river reached an estimated 20.0 feet causing flooding in Miami and Whitewater townships.
