Hurricane Bonnie moved slowly up the coast, with the east side of the county feeling the effects more strongly than the west. Most damage was downed trees and power lines, although some trees hit houses. Rainfall ranged from 8 inches in the east to 3 inches in the west, resulting in extensive ponding, especially around Riegelwood.
