Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall during the morning and early afternoon hours on the 19th resulted in flash flooding.In central Ashe County, Buffalo, Silas and Beaver Creeks were flooded. Kraut Creek in Boone, Cub Creek in Wilkesboro, and Elkin Creek in Elkin were flooded. The flooding of Elkin Creek resulted in road closings.
