During the late evening hours and early morning hours of May 6 and 7, thunderstorms with torrential rain produced flash flooding across the northwest portion of Columbia County. A mud slide covered the Conrail tracks at Stuyvesant. Roads were also flooded in Stockport, Stuyvesant, West Ghent and Greenport. In the Town of Stuyvesant, State Highway 9J, Land Road, Hollow and Allendale Roads and County Highway 46 were flooded. Mud slides also covered portions of State Highway 9J. Other flooded roads included, State Highway 66 in West Ghent and County Highway 25 in Stockport. Numerous basements in this portion of the county were also flooded.
