The combination of strong winds aloft, a low pressure area over Alberta and a high pressure area over Utah generated strong west to southwest winds over the Upper Yellowstone Valley and the Prior, Beartooth and Absaroka Mountains. Livingston had sustained winds of up to 52 mph. Pryor Mountain had gusts up to 85 mph. Big Horn Mountain had gusts up to 78 mph. Fishtail in Stillwater County had gusts up to 75 mph.
