High Wind in Minnesota, April 12, 1998
A very intense area of low pressure moving along the South Dakota and North Dakota border created high winds of 30 to 50 mph across Big Stone and Traverse counties through the late afternoon of the 12th. The high south winds caused some damage to houses and outbuildings across the counties, along with downing many tree branches and a few trees.
