The snow became locally heavy at times during the afternoon ...occasionally falling at the rate of 1-2 inches per hour. The snow tapered off toward midnight leaving 6 - 8 inch accumulations north and west of a line from Manistee to Alpena...with 3-5 inch accumulations across the rest of Northern Lower Michigan.
