Thunderstorms with frequent lightning moved through Cecil and Kent Counties during the late evening of the 12th. In Kent County, a boat was struck by lightning and one person was injured. Heavy rain contributed to numerous accidents in the county. In Cecil County, a lightning strike to the tower temporarily knocked out the emergency manager's communication center. Delmarva Power and Light reported about 6,300 customers lost power throughout the peninsula that evening.
