A cluster of thunderstorms moved slowly southeast over the area. They produced torrential rain which caused extensive street flooding. A spotter from Griswold reported 1.55 inches of rain in 30 minutes.Thunderstorms also produced strong gusty winds and lightning. A spotter from Colchester reported a wind gust to 56 mph at 4:46 pm EST. A house was struck by lightning in Griswold. The extent of the damage is unknown.
