Rainfall estimates of between ten and fifteen inches from Hurricane Georges fell throughout the county. Most of the damage in the county was from flood damage to roadways. Most of the roads throughout the county had to be closed for several hours because of high water. Schools were closed for two days due to the many washouts on secondary roads around the county. Many bridges had to also be closed due to undermining due to high water.
